Inclusively is partnering with a multinational financial services company to hire a Principal Data Analyst (HYBRID).

The Role

The Data Analyst works closely with business and technical teams to drive the creation of scalable, flexible, well governed, and detailed data design solutions. They drive adoption of enterprise and industry standard modeling methodologies. They partner with project teams to deliver practical & resilient data model designs that meet current business needs and are capable of easily adapting to new needs in the future.

Primary Responsibilities

Requirements and Analysis

  • Engage with business and technology partners to understand the business requirements, analyze the data gaps, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Assess objectives, use cases, data requirements and specifications documents created by other analysts.
  • Analyze and resolve major data issues that arise during the course of projects or in production environments.

Data Design

  • Define conceptual and logical data models, with strong definitions, to capture organizational data needs across multiple subject areas.
  • Build physical design for various types of systems such as operational systems, data warehouses, data lakes and others.
  • Actively perform dedicated and targeted data analysis to identify risks for management. Strong coordination with key business partners will be required to obtain data sets and confirm results of the analysis.
  • Document database solutions and present solutions to product partners, project teams, Data Engineering team and architecture review boards.
  • Passionate about technology and delivering solutions in integrated data environments. Current on event driven processing, and Data API developments.
  • Lead and facilitate work sessions with business functions and projects to define requirements, business term definitions and logical data models
  • Map Technical terms to Business terms in data catalog tool.

Technical Leadership

  • Provide mentorship and expertise to development community in effective implementation of data models and building of common data access services.
  • Provide strategy, data modeling with accountability on work initiative engagements and timeline. Align and ensure consistency to enterprise standards on technology, tools, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of and experience with tools, techniques and processes for complex data gathering, analysis and reporting on data for large organizations.
  • Find opportunities to use enterprise data models for new projects to minimize work and data duplication
  • Strong interest in playing a technical data steward role and partnering across our business to understand and document our data, appropriate data usages and helping Asset Mgmt. derive the maximum value from its data.

Qualifications

Education and Experience (dependent on level)

  • A Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 10 years’ experience with data design, analysis, and development. Development experience weighted towards PL/SQL and ETL tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in the following areas : Database Management Systems, Data API design and implementation, PL/SQL, warehouses, data modeling and data profiling.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrable experience with SAP Power Designer or similar data modeling tool required.
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Advanced understanding of the database development process including analysis, design, coding, testing, problem resolution and planning, and full competency in all relevant coding environments, languages, tools, and platforms
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written skills to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical associates in the company
  • Proven interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact/influence/negotiate optimally at all levels of management and peers.
  • Growing our agile development culture through use of excellent engineering skills and a deep knowledge of industry standard methodologies
  • Experience in working in data management / governance with an understanding on how data is ingested, stored, and maintained.
  • Understanding of principles and standard methodologies around Data Architecture
  • Ability to prioritize data analysis initiatives based on business criticality.
  • Experience in the financial services industry area a plus

The Team

Asset Management Technology is seeking a Principal level candidate in the data analysis and data modeling organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading data modeling and analysis across different projects with diverse scope and complex business and technical requirements in a highly integrated data environment. This role requires working autonomously and under consultative direction for achieving organizational strategic data goals. This is a key role in leading the development of high-quality data model, working as part of a team that helps to deliver data as a key asset for the enterprise. You must be comfortable working in a fast paced and highly ambiguous agile environment where there is a focus on timely delivery of data analysis, data models and other data artifacts.
