Overview: Responsible for auditing daily revenue and producing the revenue report. Verifies the accuracy of sales, telecommunication, and occupancy taxes. Prepares miscellaneous income spreadsheet for verification with invoices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level daily.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all hotel/departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of Excel/Lotus. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment only as intended.
  • Set up and organize workstations with designated supplies, forms, and resource materials; maintain cleanliness at all times.
  • Answer the telephone with three rings, using correct salutations and telephone etiquette.
  • Responsible for distributing Revenue reports to Departmental Managers each day.
  • Audit coding and classifying revenue and expense items to ensure adherence to company policy and the Uniform System of Accounts.
  • Reconcile tax spreadsheets daily; discrepancies were brought to the attention of the Associate Accountant.
  • Prepare spreadsheets and provide them to Assistant Controller for month-end close with backup copies. 
  • Copy, balance, and submit all returned checks, bad debts, recovery of bad debts, and chargebacks to Assistant Controller.
  • Prepare spreadsheets for miscellaneous income; verify against bills for approval.
  • Prepare accruals for miscellaneous costs of sales at month-end.
  • Route vouchers for approval by designated managers daily.
  • Print designated reports and distribute them as required by Controller.
  • Verify validated bank slips against postings; discrepancies were immediately brought to the attention of the Assistant Controller.
  • Prepare all tips/gratuity spreadsheets for payroll.
  • Maintain a file of tax-exempt forms.
  • Submit accrual spreadsheets for gratuity and tips at month-end.
  • Perform month-end-closing procedures as required by Controller/Assistant Controller.
  • All other duties as required.

Technical Skills: Ability to input and access information into all accounting systems; ability to maintain concentration and think clearly; ability to prioritize, organize, and follow-up; ability to promote positive relations with associates; ability to maintain the confidentiality of Accounting information; ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision; ability to remain stationary at assigned post for extended periods of time; ability to focus on details and resolve numerical problems; ability to work cohesively with other departments and co-workers as part of a team; ability to perform multiple tasks at one time.

Language: Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting 20 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.

Qualifications: High school diploma.

Experience: Minimum two years of related accounting experience.


The pay scale for this position is between $24.00 and $26.00/hour. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay.
