Position Summary
Manages and facilitates revenue cycle and related functions for the organization. Provides expertise and support to direct reports as well as organization leadership. Responsible for monitoring and managing staff adherence to organizational processes and procedures related to billing & collection.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Plan, implement, evaluate, and administer all revenue cycle strategies and processes; including authorization, eligibility and benefits verification, claims submission, payment posting, denial management, and accounts receivable follow-up.
Develop and maintain a well-trained and empowered staff to ensure timely & accurate billing to achieve maximum reimbursement and cash flow.
Facilitates staff duties and functions by interviewing, selecting, training, and apprising performance.
Responsible for completeness and accuracy of all billing related policies and procedures.
Responsible for ensuring the organization meets all regulatory, legal, compliance, and audit requirements related to the illing of services.
Monitor, respond to, and communicate changes in billing requirements, regulations, and reimbursement rates as appropriate.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to billing operational efficiencies, including designing and implementing stakeholders’ reporting, analytics and KPIs to ensure that billing is complete & accurate, and assurance that revenue is optimized.
Ensure management is provided with the necessary data sets to monitor billing performance.
Ensure appropriate levels of reimbursement based upon contractual arrangement with payers.
Ensure appropriate provider enrollment is document and in place based upon contractual arrangement.
Maintain the chargemaster to ensure appropriate coding and billing regulations are met.
Work with cross functional teams to address business and system issues and assist in their implementations.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Bachelor's degree in a related field, with 3-5 years of related work experience required.
Experience in the health care industry preferred.
Strong organizational skills that reflect attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Very strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Use of computers and software programs (Electronic Medical Record, Excel, Word, etc.)
Credentialing Experience Preferred.
