What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Health Aide position at Independence Care?
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care services to patients in their homes or assisted living facilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Administer medications as prescribed by the healthcare team
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding if necessary
- Perform light housekeeping duties, such as cleaning and laundry
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients
- Follow care plans and communicate any changes in the patient's condition to the healthcare team
Experience:
- Previous experience as a home health aide or caregiver is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with medical documentation and record keeping is a plus
- Knowledge of hospice care, working with individuals with developmental disabilities, or memory care is beneficial
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to caregiving
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Attention to detail in providing quality care and documenting patient information accurately
