Teacher Leader – SS Cyril & Philomena
Independence Mission Schools is looking for candidates who have a commitment to our mission, a growth mindset for themselves and students, experience in differentiating instruction based on comprehensive data analysis in order to meet each student’s needs, and a desire to work in a collaborative setting as an educational leader.
The coach develops and supports SS Cyril & Philomena teachers by providing guidance and assistance to improve student outcomes. These outcomes are measured by relevant assessments as determined by the administrative team and IMS Central Office. A background in K-4 education is preferable.
Responsibilities:
Teacher Support:
- Observe and provide feedback to teachers in curriculum and instruction
- Ensure teachers are monitoring and documenting student progress, and are able to articulate that to appropriate persons
- Mentor teachers on best practices and curriculum/instruction
- Train/support new teachers
- Assist with lesson planning
- Help teachers use data to differentiate groups within the classroom
- Support planning and facilitating school-based professional development
Desirable Qualifications and Attributes:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or qualifying area of study
- State of Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate preferred
- Team player
- Flexible and open to new ideas
- Can interpret and articulate student measures of growth
- Understand assessments and their implications for instruction
