What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Agent position at Independent Printing?

POSITION SUMMARY:

The delivery agent is primarily responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of IPC products – direct to customer.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Delivery/Shipping Preparation:

  • Sorts jobs for direction of delivery
  • Determines most efficient delivery route based on customer location and product on board vehicle
  • Prepares skids for shipping or delivery, shrink wrapping and banding as necessary
  • Loads delivery vans
  • Ensures delivery receipts and labels are in order

Delivery of Products

  • Follows established pickup and delivery schedule
  • Follows all Independent customer service philosophies in the performance of delivery duties and delivers customer product
  • Creates hand written delivery receipts for customer signature as needs dictate

Performance of Miscellaneous Duties

  • Cleans shipping equipment, vehicles and work station
  • Reports any errors or problems with orders or equipment to the supervisor
  • Stocks shelves with bindery supplies
  • Maintains delivery vehicles as required- to include notifying the supervisor of necessary maintenance
  • Loads common carrier trucks using appropriate transport equipment
  • Follows all established safety rules and procedures
  • Ensures high quality customer service to internal and external customers- assists by answering questions, providing shipment and delivery information
  • Communicates any delays, issues or changes to applicable departments

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Appropriate licensing credentials – CDL
  • Strong ability to communicate with people at all levels- this includes professional verbal communication that is free of vulgar language and other inappropriate use of words
  • Solid understanding of appropriate dress guidelines when working with customers and the ability to represent IPC in a professional manner and exceed customer expectations.
  • Ability to provide high quality customer care- in person, via phone and email (this includes- wearing the company shirt, following all hygiene guidelines and other applicable company policies.)
  • Knowledge of how to safely operate a forklift a plus but willing to train.

SCHEDULE:

Full-time, Hourly, Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:00pm

STARTING WAGE:

This is an hourly position and beginning wage will be in line with experience.
