One (1) permanent full-time Nurse (Outreach) position located at the Department of Preventive Medicine, Whiteriver Service Unit, Whiteriver, Arizona. The incumbent will perform a variety of nursing care procedures requiring professional knowledge and consideration of specific patient conditions and treatments and the ability to work independently in completing assignment. Direct Supervision will be the Assistant Supervisory Clinical Nurse (Outreach).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-11 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: served as a Clinical Nurse performing professional nursing duties for the care of patients (ambulatory care outpatients and outreach clinical services) providing clinical care in patient homes or other community-based locations; .Independently plans and evaluates patient status and patient's standard of care and revises necessary to meet the revisions in the medical care plan and the patient's changing needs; interview patient and/or family members and consults with attending physicians to determine the type of health and physical care needed; Participate in the development of nursing procedures and performance improvement standards for outpatient care medical services; Initiate patient referrals when necessary to maintain continuity of patient care.

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
- Education: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
- Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
- Licensure: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

- Professional nursing care principles, practices, and procedures in order to assess patient needs.
- Familiar with health records aspects of patient care and ability to accurately and completely document related clinical data
- Familiar with a variety of nursing specifications including specialty clinics related to prenatal, post-partum, pediatrics, and internal medicine.
- Aware of age specific care needs throughout the life span for encounters with patients and their family members.
- Recognize adverse signs and symptoms which are not always apparent and to react promptly in emergency situations.
