Job Summary/Basic Function
The Camp Counselor will be responsible for the general safety of the participants in the group. This includes assisting instructors with activities, as well as walking children to and from the next classroom location.

Specific Responsibilities
1. Assist the instructor with the campers.
2. Help guide the campers to their next class, to the restroom, etc.
3. Provide leadership for the campers.

Work Schedule
Work Schedule consists of one continuous 5-hour shift per day, Monday – Friday, morning or afternoon.

Preferred Relevant Education and Experience
Experience working in camps, with children, or with specific activities may be preferred. First Aid, CPR, and additional training may be beneficial and/or required.
Physical ability to participate in activities including running, climbing, swimming, lifting, or supporting the weight of children.
Ability to pass a background check.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Working with other camp staff members to plan and coordinate camp events.
Working with CITs to develop best practices.
Leading and supporting campers as they participate in age-appropriate activities.
Working hands-on with youth during all activities, including but not limited to recess or PE.
Monitoring campers to ensure compliance with camp rules and prevent accidents.
Cleaning, maintaining, and ensuring proper use of camp facilities and equipment.
Reporting and recording details of incidents, such as accidents or rule violations, to parents and camp staff.
Memorizing all emergency procedures and enforcing camp rules.
Participating in staff meetings and training.
