THIS POSITION IS POSTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AFSCME COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNITIndiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) invites applicants for a Management Technician in the Kopchick College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. SUMMARY: The Management Technician (MT) serves as the lead support staff for business operations in the Kopchick College of NSM. They will prepare and process routine purchase orders and service contract agreements for the College, track delivery, and follow up with vendors as necessary. The MT manages databases and records needed for the University to remain in compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies pertaining to chemical, radiation, and biological safety and animal care and use (IACUC). The MT is responsible for oversight of physical infrastructure including AV equipment, classrooms and laboratory equipment, computer labs, and student/faculty office spaces assigned to KCNSM, as well as the fleet vehicles information and maintenance (i.e. usage, age of vehicle, registration, etc.). They will assist in college website updates and electronic information marques. They will interface with facilities and purchasing to ensure the success of college capital projects. They will assist the Dean in establishing and implementing security standards for college facilities, and coordinate security of classrooms with instructional technology equipment. WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Review the PA Specifications for this Job Title. The above duties are normal for this position. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of the basic principles and practices and the respective standards of measurement applied within a management discipline.Knowledge of modern office practices and equipment.Knowledge of basic PC hardware and standard software.Ability to use a PC to collect, compile, and assemble data and reports for use in the conduct of studies.Ability to analyze varied data by applying the information against interpretive standards in the formulation of recommended action.Ability to perform detailed work involving written information by preparing reports of finding according to the appropriate standards of content, clarity, grammar, and format.Ability to identify problems and recognize appropriate solutions as a result of the analysis of data.Ability to communicate effectively with employees, programs officials, job applicants and the public by relating the purpose of the contact and collecting all the necessary information required for the analysis.Ability to apply and adapt established procedures to the preparation and formulation of study findings.Ability to learn the basic principles and practices of public administration.Ability to read, write, and communicate orally in English.Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates in the performance of work. Minimum Education and TrainingThree years of advanced clerical or paraprofessional work which included the collection, recording, compilation, and presentation of office management or program related information; orAny equivalent combination of experience and training. An Associate's Degree may be substituted for two years of required experience.Candidates must communicate effectively and perform well in the interview(s).Candidates must have the communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues, and community members.The salary for this position is determined by the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.
