Job Summary


The COVID Check Testing Assistant will perform the following duties in adherence to ongoing Indiana University directives towards reducing the campus infections resulting from COVID-19:

  • Give instructions to students, staff, and faculty selected or self-referred for COVID -19 testing on the IU Southeast Campus.
  • The assistant will wear Personal Protective Equipment while handing out sealed tests.
  • Persons taking the tests will provide a saliva sample in a vial, close the vial, and place it in a location where the assistant can submit it for delivery to a laboratory.
  • The assistant will complete forms and facilitate the record keeping of the testing process.
  • Reports to Youn Se Wert, RN.
  • Support and enact procedural or policy changes related to the COVID-19 pandemic as directed by the IU Medical Response Team or appropriate university leadership.
  • The position does not require medical knowledge or experience and poses very low risk of infection.

Qualifications


EDUCATION

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.

SKILLS

  • Technical skills necessary to download and use testing software, print documents, troubleshoot, and teach test participants how to use the related programs.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Desire to help others.
  • Support of and interest in IU initiatives to curb the COVID-19 pandemic.

Working Conditions / Demands


Applicants will need the ability to lift approximately 20 pounds, and work on a laptop computer in a sedentary position. Availability for at least 3 shifts per week for a minimum of 2 hours per shift is required.

Advertised Salary


$11.00 per hour.

Work Hours


Hours of operation: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
