What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material/Inventory Control position at indieDwell?
Job Summary:
The Material Handler must be experienced and dependable. To join our team, you must be familiar with maintaining production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished product. Our ideal candidate is comfortable operating a forklift in compliance with safety standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains accurate inventory, both physical and software based inventory by timely and accurate receipt, labeling & location of materials.
- Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders
- Performs cycle counts to ensure ongoing inventory accuracy.
- Communicates with vendors and purchasing to address damaged or incorrectly picked materials
- Must be comfortable communicating via email, phone and other forms of communication
- Works with Purchasing & Job Site Leads to coordinate job site materials deployment & returns
- Maintains material-handling equipment
- Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, loading, and securing product
- Operates forklift in compliance with safety standards
- Fills out related forms for production and quality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literate and the ability to maintain inventory control software
- Collaborates well with others and proactively contributes to group objectives
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Organization, scheduling and analyzing information
- Knowledge of warehousing flows and inventory management principles
- Ability to estimate quantity of materials required for a project
- Deadline oriented with excellent time management
- Locate and verify materials listed on orders
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Experience with inventory management software
- Able to safely operate a forklift
- Manufacturing environment experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
