Architectural Drafter

Our Architectural/Engineering Firm primarily serves the Semiconductor industry locally in the Chandler Arizona area, though we do work across the valley and in Rio Rancho New Mexico too. Our projects are related to equipment installation and building modifications with industrial and commercial applications. We offer services in all disciplines of design including architectural, structural, mechanical, process piping, chemical, electrical, I&C and telecom.

This is a full-time, long-term position. Additionally, Industrial Design does not offer remote work. All work will be completed in our Chandler, AZ office.

Compensation: $25-$35 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with other Designers, Engineers, Architects, Owners, Trades and technical vendors to develop design deliverables such as What-ifs (conceptual designs) and final Construction Documents. 
• Develop drawings based on written and verbal descriptions from designers and/or Architect.
• Field validates / As-build existing conditions and integrate findings into the Architectural design background drawings.
• Assists senior staff with services during construction, including responding to RFIs and submittal review.
• Make preliminary code-based assessments of design conditions and coordinate with our designers and Architect to ensure design is compliant with building codes.
• Coordinate architectural drawings with the other design disciplines and subcontracted design firms.
• Participate in design review meetings with your design lead and key stakeholders.
• Interface with other disciplines to drive open design issues to closer.
• Perform drafting (CAD) duties using AutoCAD 2D and/or Revit in support of his/her design scopes.
• Extract information from vendor drawings and create 2D blocks for use in our designs.
• Publish documents (CAD to PDFs) & manage the document / file structure throughout the design process.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Pride in one’s work, integrity in one’s character.
• The ability to be organized and balance multiple projects in various stages of completion simultaneously.
• The ability to clearly communicate design concepts with team members.
• 3 years’ experience in Design & Drafting 
• Experience working in the semiconductor industry.
• Extensive experience with the modern versions of AutoCAD 2D and Revit.
• Great aptitude for use of computer system, CAD and office software
• Education in architecture is a plus, experience may be substituted for education.
• An understanding of what codes and specs are and how they apply to design.
• Experience performing field validation inside of an ISO 5 / ISO 8 cleanroom environment is a plus.
