What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor position at Industrial Inspection & Analysis?
Summary
The Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day testing activities (fire hose, appliances, pumps, etc.) at customer sites for the fire department testing business unit. The Supervisor will work with the Operations Manager and sales team to schedule and perform work, manage the customer relationship, and execute to the customer quote. Primary job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the job site; testing of all equipment and management of the crew.
- Assumes all crew member responsibilities in addition to management responsibilities
- Hiring new crew members including the interview process and onboarding new manual laborers.
- Work with the customer to ensure each job is completed efficiently in a timely manner.
- Complete all required paperwork at the job site and enter customer records into Salesforce.
- Maintain all assigned crew equipment (shop / vehicles / trailers).
- Manage inventory for vehicle and shop equipment.
- Plan / Prepare equipment and people during the off season for the upcoming work season.
Qualifications
- High School degree / GED or consummate work experience displaying leadership qualities.
- Able to lead others, specifically in a manual labor setting, and work as part of a team.
- Able to manage time effectively, prioritize and work under pressure in order to meet deadlines.
- Drive a truck with a trailer (IIA to provide DOT medical card if necessary)
Desired Skills
- Fire Department equipment (hose, appliance, truck, etc.) experience and familiarity.
Working Conditions
- Work is Monday-Friday and occasionally Saturday.
- Typical week consists of 40 hours (Average of 50 hours / week).
- Occasional workday can be 12 hours.
- Shift is not over until job is completed.
- Must be able to work outside in various conditions (light rain, heat, cold, etc.).
Physical Requirements
- Hands on / manual labor-intensive work.
- Must be able to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and / or push up to 50 lbs.
Other Requirements
- Drivers license and reliable transportation to work.
- Be able to pass a drug test and background check.
