Position Summary :
The CNC Machinist is responsible for the machining, fabrication, and assembly of products in accordance with applicable drawings and assembly procedures.
Responsibilities :
- Manufacture parts, sub-assemblies, and units to exact specifications according to manufacturing information from prints, engineering drawings, oral instruction, etc.
- Operate and setup, misc. manual equipment (lathes, mills, drill press).
- Operate, setup, and program CNC mills.
- Perform routine machine maintenance.
- Maintain and fix shop tools and equipment.
- Organize inventory and shop equipment.
- Operate cranes and forklifts upon proper certification.
- Perform all operations according to prescribed safety principles.
- Keep assigned area neat and orderly.
- Record labor into ERP system.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Work effectively and efficiently in both team-based and independent working environments to reduce costs and add value to the organization.
Minimum Requirements :
- Proficiency operating, setting up, and programming both manual and CNC equipment used for manufacturing.
- A thorough working knowledge of shop math and geometric tolerancing.
- Knowledge of general hand tool use including drill presses, chop saws, and band saws.
- Ability to read and interpret a wide variety of written instructions, prints, sketches, and detect and correct errors.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to variations in assembly with minimal supervision.
- Ability to read measuring devices, both in English and Metric.
- Ability to perform work while standing or stooping for long periods of time, and to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Conveyor system experience preferred.
