As a Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful launch of new products and the continuous improvement of existing ones. You will be responsible for overseeing the PPAP process, ensuring that all required documentation, samples, and approvals are obtained in a timely and efficient manner. Your attention to detail and strong organizational skills will be essential as you coordinate with various internal departments and external suppliers to meet project timelines and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Coordinate the PPAP process for new and existing products, from initial submissions to final approval.

2. Review customer requirements and ensure compliance with PPAP documentation standards.

3. Collaborate with cross functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain, to gather necessary information and samples for PPAP submissions.

4. Maintain accurate records of PPAP documentation, including submissions status, approvals, and any required corrective actions.

5. Facilitate communication between internal teams and external suppliers to address any issues or discrepancies during the PPAP process.

6. Conduct regular PPAP status meetings to track progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.

7. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to the PPAP process, including streamlining workflows and implementing best practices.

8. Stay informed about industry standards and customer requirements related to PPAP, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


1. Knowledge of PPAP Requirements: Deep understanding of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements outlined in industry standards such as AIAG (Automotive Industry Action Group) PPAP Manual.

2. Quality Management Systems: Familiarity with quality management systems, including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards, and their application to the PPAP processes.

3. Technical Aptitude: Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with PPAP requirements.

4. Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills to coordinate multiple PPAP submissions simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

5. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communications skills to facilitate collaboration between internal teams and external suppliers, and to communicate effectively with customers.

6. Problem Solving: Proficient problem-solving skills to identify root causes of PPAP issues and implement effective corrective actions.

7. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of PPAP documentation and samples.

8. Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment, fostering collaboration and driving results through collective effort.

9. Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements in a dynamic manufacturing environment/

10. Computer Skills: Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and PPAP software tools for documentation management and data analysis.


Education and Experience:


1. Bacholor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field preferred.

2. Previous experience in quality assurance, supplier quality, or production engineering roles, with specific experience in PPAP coordination preferred.

3. Certified in PPAP or related quality management systems in a plus but not essential.
