What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabrication Engineer position at Industrial Transfer & Storage, Inc?
Job Description
The right candidate will prepare plans and materials according to project specifications and product requirements using CAD-based software. Must also be able to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings with all information necessary for production.
Requirements
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Solid Works, BOM software and have welding standard AWS D1.1 experience in order to create and estimate shop drawings, prepare bill of materials, review drawings for fabrication and implement necessary changes.
- Coordinate with other trades, suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Must have experience working with structural steel
- Can identify and resolve jobsite problems
- Ability to negotiate pricing and change order requests with vendors, general contractors, construction managers and owners.
- Work with accounting on job cost estimates and other financial matters.
- Develop and maintain client relationships
- Travel to job sites.
Qualifications
- Detailer/Drafter with 5 years of experience working with AutoCAD or Solid Works
- Some schooling for drafting, engineering degree not necessary but helpful.
- Steel industry background helpful but not a must.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
- Excellent oral and written skills required.
- Experience in structural and miscellaneous metals.
- Experience and familiarity with detailing software a plus.
- Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously each at various stages.
- Goal oriented, detailed enthusiastic and self motivated.
- Team player with a positive attitude and can work independently with little supervision.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
