Background:
IDEA’s mission is to assume a leadership position in facilitating the exchange of complete, high-quality, commercial grade transactional and eCommerce content, which includes serving as the electrical industry’s standards body by setting, facilitating, and monitoring data standards.
IDEA is comprised of two for-profit businesses and is jointly owned by two non-profit Associations, NAED and NEMA:
- IDEA Connector – an industry product information platform which receives, validates, stores, secures and syndicates both transactional and eCommerce enhanced data/product content
- IDEA Exchange – a Value-Added Network (VAN) which enables electronic data to be passed between companies in a competitive, cost-efficient manner
The MDM Administrator will work in an enthusiastic and progressive team remote setting for IDEA, an industry leader in the Electrical Wholesale channel supporting a large and dedicated customer base. The MDM Administrator will be responsible for ensuring IDEA’s EnterWorks MDM system is operating to its full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configuration of IDEA’s EnterWorks MDM application
- Implement, test, document, and integrate new solutions and integrations within IDEA’s EnterWorks MDM application
- Participate in efforts to implement application updates to include upgrades, patches, and new releases
- Participate in testing changes, upgrades, and new services, ensuring systems will operate correctly in current and future environments.
- Work closely with support vendors to solve system issues
- Understand the applications, supporting infrastructure, and systems integration
- Provide application troubleshooting and problem resolution to the applications assigned
- Continually monitor and resolve application issues
- Keep current with new technologies and solutions by attending technical training, seminars, or workshops
- Create conceptual data models, data flow documentation and user workflow processes
- Maintain IDEA Connector℠ system documentation: data dictionary, business rules, load and extract templates
- Identify, research and track IDEA Connector℠ issues identified internally and by customers
Education and Experience:
- Experience with administration/configuration of EnterWorks MDM
- Experience implementing EnterWorks MDM project
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Data Governance/MDM in a technical capacity
- Proficiency in SQLServer querying
- Experience with SQLServer stored procedures
- Light Java skills to debug with stack trace of EnterWorks to analyze where the issue is occurring
- S. in Computer Science or related field from a 4-year college or university
- Strong analytic skill set and a high degree of proficiency in data profiling and modeling
- Must have a technical background and be able to lead data integration, data modeling, MDM workflow, etc. through a firsthand understanding
- Deep knowledge of various data sharing / integration methodologies (e.g. REST, SOAP, EDI, Enterprise Service Bus)
- Experience with requirement/test/project management solutions, preferably JIRA
