Job Posting for Superintendent at Industry Leader in Construction
Job Description: The Superintendent is to monitor projects from planning to completion, including tasks such scheduling and interfacing with subcontractors on a daily basis. Must follow quality standards and ensure the safety and security of the construction site. Communicates schedule changed collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs. The Superintendent sets performance goals and deadlines, and plan construction processes. In addition, supervise staff and provide constructive feedback while monitoring and reporting on project progress. Superintendent will also plan inspections and obtain construction permits from local authorities. The Superintendent may need to order the appropriate equipment and arrange for regular maintenance.
Operational Duties
Direct oversight of daily operations of field work activities, including direct contact and management of with subcontractors and all construction activities
Oversee receipt of construction materials and shipments
Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans.
Assist in updating schedules and keep accurate according to project status.
Convey all construction delays to Operations Manager immediately.
Manage Project Permit
Conduct walks with subs and City personnel for means of reviewing projects conditions and permit requirements.
Ensure all permit functions are signed off throughout the process as required by the City of San Diego
Coordination of the implementation of a project and ensuring it is being done to plans with the help of subcontractors.
Quality Control
Daily presence to ensure work is being completed to quality standards outlined in scope of work.
Daily presence in all work areas throughout the workday, including initial entry to work areas and daily closeout.
Engage Project Engineers as required by construction administrations contracts.
Oversee Safety on Construction Job
Maintain safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules and regulations including but not limited to hosting bi-weekly safety meetings.
Enforce and manage an onsite safety program that ensures full compliance with all safety regulations and laws and ensure the safety of all residents and staff members.
Manage daily onsite check-in and safety meetings as required.
Skills Needed:
Ability to work independently with drive and initiative but also work well within a teamwork setting.
Detailed oriented, organized and flexible individual able to perform multiple tasks with varying priorities under conditions requiring speed and accuracy.
Ability to interpret plans and drawings.
Professional in all communications with a high level of customer service
Ability to present self in a professional manner and represent the company image.
High attention to detail
Requirements:
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience with OneNote is a plus.
Proficient with MAC computers
College Degree preferred, but not required.
Minimum 4 years of construction experience
Experience with permitting/inspection process – minimum 2 years
