Barista

We are looking to fill a part-time/full-time barista position. Barista experience is preferred not necessary, we will provide adequate training. Willing to learn, timely, and motivated individuals are encouraged to apply. This will be a 2-4 day a week position. Training will start immediately!

Job Summary:
As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting exceptional coffee and beverage experiences for our customers. This role requires a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering high-quality products and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and Serve Beverages: Prepare a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences. This includes espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, tea, and specialty beverages.
• Customer Service: Provide friendly, attentive, and efficient customer service to ensure a positive experience for every guest. Take orders, answer questions, and make recommendations as needed.
• Maintain Cleanliness: Keep work areas, equipment, and serving areas clean and sanitized at all times. Follow food safety and hygiene standards to ensure the health and safety of customers and team members.
• Operate Equipment: Operate coffee brewing equipment, espresso machines, and other beverage-making tools with precision and care. Perform routine maintenance tasks and troubleshoot equipment issues as necessary.
• Cash Handling: Handle cash and process transactions accurately using a point-of-sale (POS) system. Maintain cash drawer integrity and adhere to cash handling procedures.
• Stocking and Inventory: Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, cups, and other supplies. Restock items as needed and communicate inventory needs to management.
• Menu Knowledge: Stay informed about menu offerings, including seasonal specials and promotions. Educate customers about different coffee varieties, brewing methods, and flavor profiles.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service. Communicate effectively with coworkers and management to coordinate tasks and maintain a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a barista or in a similar role preferred.
• Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and beverage preparation.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality products.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
• Manual dexterity to operate equipment and handle utensils.
• Stamina to handle busy shifts and maintain energy levels throughout the day.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional training or certification in coffee preparation or hospitality is a plus.

Working Conditions:

• Fast-paced cafe environment with exposure to heat, steam, and noise.
• Flexible scheduling may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
