AAHI is seeking a highly motivated scientist to join our product development and characterization group. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and executing formulation development and stability studies, in support of the development of vaccines against infectious diseases. This includes collecting, analyzing, reviewing, and reporting bulk antigen and drug product characterization data for multiple projects simultaneously. The candidate will actively contribute to the implementation and advancement of project plans, strategies, and team decisions and will be the primary driver of development progress on multiple projects. The candidate will ensure that all job responsibilities are performed and documented accurately and on time. Exact title to be determined based on qualifications and experience.

Associate Scientist range: $87,000 - $112,000 per year.

Staff Scientist range: $95,000 - $123,000 per year.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform characterization of routine and non-routine samples using established and developed methods.
  • Develop new methods for antigen/vaccine characterization using diverse instrumentation including HPLC, particle sizing, spectrophotometry, ELISA, gel electrophoresis, and Western Blot, among other methods.
  • Demonstrate abilities for critical thinking, organized planning, problem solving, and effective communication.
  • Potential for management of one or more direct reports.
  • Present results, write development reports and/or manuscripts, and maintain a detailed lab notebook.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal and external project partners.
  • Build and maintain a dependable, trustworthy working relationship with teammates within the immediate group and across departments.
