 Job Summary:   

IMS is seeking an experienced Process Modeler to gather and analyze information from a variety of sources (SMEs, documentation, and technical) to create business process models within the process modeling methodology framework. The Process Modeler may be expected to facilitate workshops, fact-finding interviews, project management activities, and other necessary activities to gather and synthesize information into their process models and produce written documentation and procedures to support the models.  The Process is expected to have a mid-level of competency as a technical writer.

Job Duties: 

In this role as a Process Modeler you will be required to:  manage the documentation of current business processes, recommend improvements, and evaluate the efficiency of changes made to the business processes. You will also need to review and analyze key business metrics to devise plans for improvement and succinctly and effectively communicate those findings and plans to clients.

Further duties, responsibilities, and requirements include (but are not limited to):  

      • Facilitating meetings and teams towards a common vision or goal – must be able to work with a variety of clients and gather information
      • Process Mapping – Able to translate discussion into process flows and process documentation
      • Utilize and apply appropriate Business Process Management (BPM) methodologies, techniques, and methods, including process mapping/modeling
      • Utilize applicable project management approaches, and tools to develop and accomplish tasks throughout the phases of the project lifecycle
      • Working effectively at all levels in an organization
      • Applying strong analytic and critical thinking skills to bring clients solutions
      • Must be a team player and able to work with and through others
      • Advanced skill level with Microsoft Visio
      • Effectively utilize Microsoft Project, Word, and suite of Microsoft tools to accomplish goals and tasks and work assignments

Skills / Qualifications:  

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
    • Exceptional communication skills – Written and Verbal
    • Excellent active listening skills
    • Excellent analytical and abstraction reasoning skills, as well as problem solving ability
  • Ability to effectively lead and facilitate multiple project teams simultaneously
  • Advanced skill level with Microsoft Visio
    • SharePoint knowledge desirable
  • US citizenship is mandatory  
    • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Secret Security Clearance, if required 

 Education / Experience:   

  • BA/BS (preferred) in Business, or related field (from an accredited college/university)
  • Minimum 2 years’ related experience required; and; 
  • Experience with data analysis, project management, contract development, or related fields
  • Experience in writing technical documentation is a plus
  • Prior experience in process management systems is a plus
  • Prior experience as business analyst or business/systems architect is a plus
