Role: Technical Writer
Duration: 3 year contract
Location: Jackson MS (Onsite required. May be able to work some remote but not 100% remote )
Preference will be given to candidates who can work 40 hours a week at the DOM office, located in Jackson MS, for the duration of the contract.
Alternatively, candidates who travel will be considered, however, they will be required to be in the office, in Jackson, MS, every other week, for the duration of the contract.
Required skills:
-3 years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in a technology or data-related field.
-Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise documentation.
-Proven experience documenting data-related projects, data flows, data mappings, and system integrations.
-Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with technical teams to gather information and produce accurate documentation.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Responsibilities:
-Data Lake Documentation: Work closely with technical and subject matter experts to document the technical aspects
of the Data Lake implementation, including data architecture, data flow diagrams, data mapping, data definitions, and system integrations.
-Agency-wide Technical Documentation: Establish, integrate, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for the Division of Medicaid, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), guidelines, and best practices.
-Data Dictionaries: Review and update data dictionaries regularly to ensure accuracy and completeness, collaborating with Data Engineers and Analysts to reflect any changes or additions.
-Business Rules and Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to capture business rules and requirements for Data projects, ensuring clear and well-documented specifications.
-Data Governance Documentation: Assist in developing documentation related to data governance policies, data access controls, and data classification standards.
-Version Control: Implement version control for all technical documentation to track changes, updates, and revisions effectively.
-Quality Assurance: Review and edit technical documents for clarity, consistency, and adherence to established standards.
-Knowledge Transfer: Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions with team members to ensure proper understanding and utilization of technical documentation.
