What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Inflammatix?
The Production Supervisor helps oversee the Inflammatix production team and is involved with a wide variety of projects including process/continuous improvement, sustaining engineering efforts, as well as helping to introduce new manufacturing processes and products to the line. The Supervisor also helps with the day-to-day work of production employees, including working on the production line as needed for both manufacturing and engineering builds. This individual will help manage the team's performance, development, and growth within Production/Operations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise the activities of production operators to ensure safe and compliant production of medical devices, meeting production goals, demands, and quality standards
- Oversee the production cartridges on the assembly line, including use of hand tools, fixtures, assembly modules, and automated component placement machines
- Appropriately escalate and document production problems, failures/deviations, process issues or equipment failures on the production floor to management in a timely manner
- Ensure Line Clearance is performed; equipment logs, forms, and all other documentation are filled out appropriately
- Train operators and confirm the use of valid manufacturing procedures and documentation Including: Work Orders, Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPIs), Manufacturing Report Forms (MRFs), and associated attachments are completed in a timely manner and accurately
- Ensure ERP transactions are being performed, as needed
- Make necessary changes to documents through appropriate change control processes
- Analyze production processes and environment to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and help eliminate waste
- Work with engineers to determine process improvement and help with new product introductions
- Work with Supply Chain Team on raw material and consumable inventory management and flow
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment, including general housekeeping and all equipment, machines, and workspaces
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Biological/Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- 4 years of GMP experience working in an ISO/cleanroom environment manufacturing medical and/or diagnostic product
- 2 years of demonstrated leadership in a directly related field preferably in a medical device environment or equivalent
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Familiarity of standard manufacturing and laboratory equipment
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement/6S is preferred
- Good understanding of production/process flow, takt times, & bottlenecks on the production line
- Have a deep understanding of Line Clearance, Quality Standards, and GMP/GDP
- Must have experience with ERPs, Excel, Microsoft Suite
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must be highly collaborative, team oriented, and efficient
