RN Med Surg Job Description - Elmira, NY
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical
Location: Elmira, NY
Duration: 13-week contract
Shifts: Day and Night shifts available, 12 hours each
Weekends: Up to every other weekend
Floating Requirements: First to float off of floor to other med/surgical units
Number of Beds: 22 on 3B, when 3C open, up to 15 additional beds
Patient Ratio: 1:7
Required Skills: Telemetry
Job Description:
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific principles
- Serve as a patient advocate, provide health education, and participate in discharge planning
- Collaborate with other health care professionals to develop individualized care plans
- Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by a physician
- Monitor and assess patients' condition and notify the physician of any changes
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records
- Adhere to all nursing standards and procedures
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in the state of New York
- Minimum 1-2 years of recent Med Surg experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Telemetry experience preferred
- EPIC experience preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
