Job Description
A savvy and enterprising journalist would be ideal for this position. While it doesn’t require an extensive knowledge of the food and beverage industry, that individual should have some familiarity of it as well as the enthusiasm to learn about it. Required is an impeccable writing background with excellent researching, editing and interviewing skills. Strong social media skills (Instagram, Linkedin, TikTok especially) are a plus.
The candidate should be prepared to take on regular writing assignments as well as other content creation, such as video and audio projects. This role requires attention to detail, strict adherence to due dates, great communication skills, and working as part of a team. The person in this role should be self-motivated, curious, understanding of change, and ready to learn.
Main job duties
- Produce steady flow of content for the Food & Beverage Insider (FBI) website (articles, videos, audio projects)
- Work with FBI team to establish clear communication about content and due dates
- Work with marketing and FBI teams to create content for various social media platforms
- Ensure FBI’s social media platforms engage with F&B community
- Keep track of audience engagement on social media platforms
- Research industry news to stay on top of current events
- Assist FBI team with assets for digital magazine and online articles
Objectives of this Role
Content Development and Execution
- Collaborate with FBI editorial team to decide topics for content to ensure info is timely and relevant.
- Research independently market trends and other relevant topics for future content creation
- Grow audience of FBI’s social media platforms by posting engaging—and as much as possible—interactive content
Communication
- Communicate with FBI and marketing teams about growth of social media platforms and best practices
- Work with FBI team to ensure online articles are relevant and not redundant
- Learn FBI’s Google doc system
- Communicate with FBI content director about progress and issues

- Communication: Able to communicate efficiently and clearly
- Diligent/Persistent: Diligence for executing on a due date with the ability to schedule in advance; persistence in gathering required information
- Creativity: Keep an eye toward new ways to promote and execute content
Preferred Education, Education and Mindset
Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism or creative writing.
Experience: Recent college graduate to three years at a media outlet.
Mindset: Highly detail-oriented and self-motivated to see what needs to be done and to do it well.
