Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Scientist to join our growing Data Analytics team. This role will closely collaborate with other members of the Data Analytics team, Product Management, content matter experts, and Technology teams to identify and further drive development of innovative advanced analytic solutions that address key customer problems, whilst also helping to guide methodologies and internal processes.
What you’ll be doing:
- Work within the Analytics Team alongside the Product Management and Technology teams to address key customer driven problems within the product roadmap
- Explore and apply predictive modelling and machine learning techniques to internal and new datasets to advance the product portfolio
- Propose new analytics concepts and develop proof of concepts for Product Management to gain customer validation before progressing to full product development
- Use natural language processing, advanced data mining techniques and machine learning to extract maximum value from structured and unstructured data sources.
- Responsibilities extend to identifying and selecting any new analytic tools require to support analytics innovation.
- Work with Data Engineers to guide data manipulation, alignment, and linking of existing data within our data architecture to drive analytics.
- Work alongside teams to identify new data assets that can support and enhance Informa Pharma’s advanced analytics offerings
- Identify ways to optimise internal ways of working and processes
Qualifications
What we're looking for:
- Bachelors or Masters in computer science, statistics or other quantitative subject
- Experience with advanced analytics techniques including but not limited to predictive modelling, machine learning and statistical analysis
- Knowledge of and experience with latest supervised/unsupervised machine learning techniques and algorithms eg GBM (XGBoost, CatBoost, etc)
- Feature engineering techniques to prepare diverse dimensional datasets for use in machine learning models and to improve performance including natural language processing (NLP)
- Experience with common data analytics programming languages (Python, R), libraries (Pandas, NumPy Scikit-Learn, etc) and tools
- Knowledge with data visualization tools such as Pydash, Bokeh, R Shiny and Tableau would be desired.
- Domain-expertise in the drug development industry would be preferable but is not a requirement.
- Good communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of an organization internally and externally.
- Understanding of agile methodologies and the ability to prioritise models and data according to the goals of the project in order to deliver continuous value.
