Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Engineer uses their skills to ensure that software developed by Infovisa meets quality standards. The QA Engineer will create and maintain user interface tests for Infovisa's web applications and software. The QA Engineer is primarily responsible for translating user stories and acceptance criteria into functioning test plans using automated testing software. Additionally, the QA Engineer will collaborate with development groups, business teams, and IT to establish automated testing processes and development guidelines.
Essential QA Automation Engineer Functions:
- Effectively collaborate with other teams during all phases of SDLC to establish the appropriate test strategies for all products, including: testing scripts, test cases, and testing suites.
- Work to automate regression and functioning UI/UX testing during product life cycles.
- Complete test preparation and test execution tasks based on priorities established by Product Manager.
- Design and implement automation solutions based on system understanding and analysis of technology and system specifications.
- Prioritize test cases considering business priorities and risk.
- Create metrics, evaluate, and provide reporting on effective test coverage to management.
- Identify, analyze, and lead the resolution of issues identified with test automation.
- Using initiative and creativity, resolve identified problems both individually and as part of an escalation path for the team.
- Make recommendations to improve product reliability, performance, and quality assurance best practices and processes.
- Coordinate production releases across multiple operational, technical, and support teams.
- Maintain and grow knowledge of required Infovisa products and services.
- Assist with annual integration testing, disaster recovery testing, and ongoing maintenance of documentation for Infovisa’s suite of products as necessary.
- Follow established corporate and team standards, policies, and procedures.
- Execute the goals and strategy as defined by the Product Manager.
- Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.
- Attend and contribute to team and other essential non-team meetings, stand-ups, or retrospectives.
Requirements:
- Experience creating and maintaining automated test scripts.
- Experience with SmartBear TestComplete software or other automated testing software.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and XPath.
- Development experience with javascript, C#, or other programming or scripting languages.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills to meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues.
- SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience within agile and waterfall methods.
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1 years working in a professional office environment
- Up to 10% travel.
Other Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge and understanding of SQL and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with API testing tools (i.e. Postman/ SoapUI)
- Experience with one or more Agile tools, such as Microsoft DevOps, Jira, or Blueprint
