The CNC Machinist is responsible for operating CNC machines to produce precision parts and components according to specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC machinery, blueprints, and technical drawings. Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and program CNC machines (lathes, mills, or other machinery) to produce parts according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and sequences of operations.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, machine speeds, and feeds based on material and job requirements.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Adjust machine settings to correct deviations and ensure parts meet specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine settings, and tool changes.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production quality and efficiency.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in CNC machining preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience as a machinist.
- Skilled in programming and operating CNC machines.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. or project.
