What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Supervisor position at INFRAMARK, LLC?
The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of a team of accountants within the finance department as well as reviewing financials, audits and budget reports for accuracy and compliance with all GAAP and GASB rules and regulations. Successful performance of the work requires excellent knowledge of governmental accounting practices and procedures, fund accounting and fiscal management. This position's role is to provide the technical expertise necessary to ensure that our financial records conform to GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES

- Supervising a team of accountants.
- Attending District meetings as needed.
- Resolving financial questions and issues for Staff.
- Providing technical support to outside auditors and governmental program auditors.
- Reviewing annual audit report produced by external auditors for accurate and completeness for assigned Districts.
- Serves as backup for all Finance Department functions when needed.
- Assisting department with general ledger inquiry, research and corrections.
- Responding to inquiries from management regarding financial performance and results, special reporting requests, etc.
- Monitoring and analyzing department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.?
- Participating in the preparation, evaluation, justification, and maintenance of budgets and budgetary controls for assigned Districts.
- Ensuring compliance for assigned Districts with all statutory and bond regulations & requirements including timely filing of audits, state returns and dissemination information.
- Attending meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions, and reviews publications to remain current on principles, practices, and new developments in accounting.
- Participating in the development and implementation of department goals, objectives, policies, and priorities; recommending and administering policies and procedures.
- Performing other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions
QUALIFICATIONS
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent understanding of Fund or governmental accounting practices and principles
- Auditing practices and principles
- Public agency budgeting practices and principles
- Applicable laws, codes and regulations; and
- Techniques for dealing with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, in person and over the telephone.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with various business units.
- Strong organizational skills
- Accurate and attentive to detail
- Proficient computer (Excel and Word) skills
- Must be a self-starter in gathering information and presenting potential solutions
SKILL AND ABILITY TO
- Communicate (verbal and written) and interact effectively with Board members, co-workers, managers, subordinates and the general public - sufficient to convey information and to receive work direction
- Work more than 40 hours as needed
- Travel as needed
- Interpret, apply and explain complex laws, codes, regulations and ordinances
- Make sound, independent judgments within established policies and procedures
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
BS degree in Accounting or Finance and 8 years’ experience in accounting or general business. A CPA and/or MBA preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certified Public Accountant preferred
