ESG Operations, an Inframark Company, is hiring a Road Sign Maintenance Technician to join our team working at Fort Moore. You would be responsible for planning, fabricating, installing, and inspecting traffic sign materials, tools and equipment, code and regulation compliance, and reporting.
You would:
- Plan and organize activities for road sign creation, installation and maintenance.
- Fabricate traffic signs such as regulatory, warning, construction, school, or recreational; operate sign truck to drive sign poles into ground; maintain signs and pulls as needed.
- Paint and maintain traffic markings, such as arrows or guidelines, for such areas as bike lanes, schools, or recreational areas.
- Maintain area around signs, including mowing grass and trimming shrubs or tree limbs to ensure visibility for motorists; ensures securing of work areas with traffic signs and cones, and flagging and directing of traffic around work areas as needed.
- Assist with maintaining inventory of materials and supplies to make traffic signs; orders supply and performs periodic physical inventory.
- Process daily paperwork including schedules, reports and personnel information.
- Oversee and approve expenditures for area of responsibility, under a set dollar limit; purchase operating materials.
- Gather and maintain information/data to support periodic and special reports documenting activities for area of responsibility.
- Attend safety classes, reinforce, and comply with company safety policies.
Qualifications:
Requires one year of education and training equivalent to one year of college or specialized vocational training in IMSA. Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must have a valid state driver’s license, preferably a commercial driver’s license. IMSA, NICET or ATSSA certification helpful.
Knowledge of: practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions, measurements. Decision-making as a major part of the job, affecting a minor segment of the organization and the general public; works in a dynamic environment with responsibility for achieving goals and objectives.
Skill in: Coordinate the handling and handling or using machines, tools, equipment or work aids involving moderate latitude for judgment regarding attainment of a standard or in selecting appropriate items.
Ability to: Compile, examine, or evaluate data or information and recommends action based on results. Instruct and/or train others through explanation, demonstration, and supervised practice, or by making recommendations based on of technical disciplines. Perform supervisory work involving policy and guidelines; the application of logical principles and thinking to solve practical problems within a department of the organization; requires solving both people and work related problems; continuous, close attention for accurate results and frequent exposure to unusual pressure. Work non-standard and overtime hours as required
Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, you may be exposed to extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, bright and/or dim light, dust or pollen, intense noise levels, vibration, fumes or noxious odors.
Physical requirements: This position requires frequent standing, kneeling, bending and climbing. The employee must be able to use hands to operate and manipulate tools and equipment. This position requires very heavy physical exertion including the ability to lift over 50 pounds and exert over 100 pounds of force on a regular basis.
