Insurance Verification Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Verification Specialist to join our team. As an Insurance Verification Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely verification of insurance coverage for our patients. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of insurance processes and regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits for patients prior to their appointments
- Communicate with insurance companies to obtain necessary information
- Review and interpret insurance policies and guidelines
- Update patient records with accurate insurance information
- Collaborate with medical billing team to resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients regarding insurance inquiries
- Maintain strict confidentiality in handling patient information
- Stay up-to-date on changes in insurance regulations and requirements

Skills:
- Proficient in managed care and insurance verification processes
- Strong knowledge of medical coding systems, including ICD-10 and ICD-9
- Familiarity with dental office procedures and terminology is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Knowledge of medical records management and documentation practices
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance standards
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
