Position Summary
The Clinical Lead is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of his/her clinic, including both staff and patient interactions. The Clinical Lead bridges communication between organizational leaders and those who provide direct patient care in order to ensure the best possible patient experience. This individual assumes responsibility for providing patient-focused health care and will supervise licensed registered nurses and medical assistants.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Continues to function in accordance with Infusion Associates’ Registered Nurse job description when functioning in an infusion nurse role
- Maintains a safe environment in accordance with standards, policies, and safety regulations/ Ensures compliance with infection control policies
- Will collaborate with other Clinical Leads in the region in the daily, weekly, and monthly building of the staff schedule ensuring that all clinical spaces have coverage and ensuring resources are distributed appropriately
- Review patient schedules to ensure that adequate staffing is available to accommodate the patients that are scheduled as well as make adjustments as needed for employee absences and PTO requests
- Involvement in the LEAN process and continual improvement of established standard work
- Has a working knowledge of and supports organizational policies and procedures. Assists in the development and improvement of policies, procedures, and processes in coordination with organizational leaders and according to Infusion Associates’ policy development process to ensure quality services are being provided.
- Facilitates huddles, engages staff, and embraces continual improvement using the huddle board and other LEAN tools
- Maintains the huddle board with the assistance of the providers who help cascade information from the Tier 2 huddles to the Tier 1 huddles
- Responsible to provide immediate feedback to downlines, perform performance reviews on an annual basis at minimum and new hire 90-day reviews. Concerns should be brought to the attention of HR and Director of Ops
- Coordinates the servicing of the office equipment and ensures his/her site is equipped with necessary supplies, communicating shortages through huddles
- Assists patients, patients’ families, referring physicians, and third-party carriers to resolve patient-related issues
- Demonstrates awareness of limitations of institutional resources, seeks to maximize schedule or reschedule patients to efficiently utilize resources to include backfilling to cover cancellations or adding urgent appointments
- Assists employees in training, understanding, and following the office’s compliance regarding HIPAA, OSHA, cybersecurity, and procedures manuals
- Motivates staff, communicates organization goals and inspires the team to achieve these goals
- Responsible for the site’s employee engagement budget
- Assists the Director of Operations in recruiting, hiring, orientation, development, and evaluation of clinical staff
- Handle time and attendance/HRIS system, checking timecards and managing vacation/PTO approvals and denials
- Responsible for site quality measures, achieving goals and reporting results to leadership
- Achieve and maintain high quality in work, client relations and team relations
- Consistently meet deadlines, while maintaining high quality work
- Establish and maintain a rapport with clients and vendors
- Support other Clinical Leaders and their teams as necessary to cover PTO
- Manage and facilitate the efficient operation of the office
- Process and coordinate the on-boarding of new employees, check in with new staff
- Makes sure that all training, competencies, and certifications are current for clinical staff
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
- Scheduling flu shot clinics and CPR
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Abilities
- Associates degree in Nursing required, bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
- 1 year experience in LEAN methodology or leading teams preferred or a combination of education and experience
- Current unencumbered Michigan RN License. Experience in infusion medicine, delegating to unlicensed personnel, and in making confident, independent, professional decisions regarding patient care
- BLS Certification
- Effective written and communication skills
- Working knowledge of computers and their applications
- Basic pharmacology
- Medical math skills
- Use of all computer systems implemented at Infusion Associates
- This position may oversee unlicensed personnel, students, temporary and/pr casual workers so experience with supervision is preferred
