Job Summary:
Supporting Air End assembly operations, this position is responsible for mechanical assembly, sensitive and detailed assembly operations, and functional testing including quality checks and test. This will be responsible supporting operations personnel developmental and training needs as necessary to adequately cross train employees to meet business needs. This position will also work closely with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering team to develop standard work and troubleshooting flow charts to decrease quality defects and improve area efficiency.

Responsibilities:
- Performs all mechanical assembly and functional test set up including in-process quality checks and tests.
- Performs disassembly and rebuild of air ends, or sensitive rotating assemblies.
- Reads and interprets engineering drawings, specifications, assembly instructions, bills of material, and quality control documents.
- Takes responsibility for quality and work content performed in the applicable operation by signing off on the appropriate documentation prior to indexing to the next step in process.
- Insures that all tools used in performing job duties are within calibration, as stated on calibration sticker. Where discrepancies arise, immediate notification of supervisor occurs.
- Performs job duties with limited supervision.
- Maintains clean, orderly, and safe work area and follow all safety rules and procedures.
- Identifies safety concerns and drives for successful resolution.
- Assists in the training of other department personnel as required.
- Uses problem solving skills (identify problems and respond correctly). Shall be capable of performing disassembly and rebuild of air ends, or sensitive rotating assemblies
- Exhibits a high degree of manual dexterity with great attention to detail and workmanship
- Use of calipers, dial, indicators, precision measuring devices.
- Participates in departmental projects, as needed (ex. Lean initiatives, restructuring the cell layout, continuous improvement).
- Has a thorough understanding of all jobs within the assigned area, may work on the line to support daily production as needed.
- Participate in Gemba walks and effectively articulate training needs and results, problem identification and problem solving activities, etc.
- Conduct training audits to identify training gaps and conduct on the job training to correct deficiencies.
- Promotes a culture of process discipline around employees following standard work.
- Operate as a key contributor to the team to set standard work, audit standard work, and improve standard work while problem solving and tracking MDI.
- Must be willing to be assigned / rotated through different areas
- Required to work unscheduled overtime as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
- High School Diploma / GED, TLDP certification preferred
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, assembly instructions, bills of material and quality control documents.
- Must have demonstrated competencies for 5 years in rotary operations.
- Ability to use correct tooling, fixturing and equipment to perform work tasks to engineering specifications
- Excel and Oracle experience preferred
- Ability to communicate, coach, and train operation employees to optimize production.
- Accepts change and is willing to adapt and learn new tasks
- Responds to coaching and corrective action
