This is a second shift position, working from 4 pm - 12:30 am, Monday - Friday.
The Manufacturing Cell Operator is an experienced machine operator who is disciplined, creative and an excellent problem solver who will thrive in our lean manufacturing environment. He/she is a reliable individual who is able to read blueprints and hold tight tolerances with a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Follow Standard Work – Set up, running parts and preventative maintenance (PM).
- Inspect, deburr, and perform manual operations and/or operate other equipment internal to the machine cycle. This includes the selection and presetting of tools which will be required for the next scheduled job.
- Update and maintain all visual controls
- Initiates and understands root cause analysis (5Y), in the moment, by clearly stating what had occurred.
- Create and/or support countermeasures
- Operate in and create a clean and safe environment
- Participate and engage in SMED, Kaizen events, and ‘5 Whys’ problem solving exercises
- Identify equipment abnormalities and support PM
- Follow company safety procedures and standards to insure individual and collective safety, in addition to avoiding unnecessary risk to oneself, co-workers, contractors, customers, and property. Be a stand for safety having the courage to call forth and report unsafe practices.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications – Experience/Education/Skill Requirements:
- Must have 2 years machining experience or education equivalent in related field.
- Ability to Set-Up and Operate CNC machining work centers.
- Experience in making tool changes and making in process offset changes
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Capable of reading and following standard work
- Must be capable of using metrology equipment effectively.
- Experienced in blueprint reading.
- Good GD & T understanding
- Working knowledge of CNC (mills/lathes)
- Knowledge of CNC controls i. e. Fanuc, Siemens, Okuma OSP.
- Tooling Familiarity
- Basic math and PC skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must possess critical thinking/problem solving capabilities
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, and work well with others
- Excellent past work record (performance, attendance and attitude)
- Trade school certification in related field preferred
- Any related professional education or training a plus
- Ability to speak and read English
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
- Works within a manufacturing environment, with exposure to noise, heat, cold, fumes, and chemicals
