What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tankerman, Black Oil position at Inland Marine Service?
Inland Marine Service, a leader in the Inland Towing industry, has a career opportunity for Inland Black Oil Tankerman. This position works a 28/28-day schedule and is responsible for all liquid transfer operations will be charged with ensuring that all IMS transfers comply with the appropriate regulatory requirements, IMS policies, and the shoreside facility’s policies throughout the transfer process.
RESPONSBILITIES:
The safe transfer of black oil products and using the thermal fluid heating systems on the barges.
Assists in performing the routine operational maintenance of the barges IMS operates. (fuel filters, small pumps, barge operational components).
Assists with the assessment of repairs/renewal needed to keep the barges in regulatory and operationally compliant condition.
Performs transfers of products according to company safety procedure and policies.
Assists and directs building tow and locking based on wheelhouse directives.
Maintains the vessel through housekeeping of the vessel.
Performs other related duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with black oil transfers.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cargo heating systems (Volcanic).
Knowledge of safety/compliance standards for safe transfer operations.
Excellent safety record in the marine industry.
Thoroughly understand all pertinent regulations and laws under which the barge operates.
Communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION:
Valid Tankerman credential issued by the USCG
Valid TWIC
Valid state of residence Driver’s License.
