The primary responsibility of the Tax Accountant is to proactively work with external tax accountants to prepare and file various tax forms and request tax payments. This position will work with both internal corporate accounting and Investor Reporting teams.
Core Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates highest standards of personal and professional integrity, adheres to company's policies and procedures, and complies with applicable laws, government rules and regulations
- Assists asset management team with investigating tax filing requirements evolving from the disposition of assets or other transactions
- Coordinates efforts involved with preparing and processing of various state-estimated quarterly payments
- Assists with the preparation of various tax forms and gathering supporting documents for year-end and quarterly tax estimates
- Coordinate non-employee withholding filings and payments
- Work with Director of Tax on other projects

Qualifications:
Education:
- This position requires a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting from a four-year college or university.
Experience:
- This position requires over 2 years up to 5 years of prior professional accounting experience, preferably in a real estate
Certifications:
- The following certification is preferred for this position: Certified Public Accounting (C.P.A.) .
Skills:
- Keyboarding skills are required for this
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Outlook are preferred for this
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are preferred for this
- Intermediate skills in Yardi (or comparable general ledger software program) is required for this
- Ten Key skills are required for this
