What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Trainer position at Innisbrook Resort?
POSITION OBJECTIVE |
Personal Trainers provide one-on-one fitness instruction and develop programs and choose exercises. Trainers evaluate their clients’ physical fitness and keep track of progress. Trainers must be able to demonstrate the movements and exercises recommended. They also provide encouragement and support for the client and recognize the client’s strengths and weaknesses.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS |
- Provides excellent customer service and monitors guest feedback through the use GSI and other customer care techniques.
- Helps to ensure facility in only accessed by members and/or guests, and that it is safe and secure at all times.
- Promotes all facility programs/activities by discussing other department area that may assist members with a total facility experience. Must keep current with facility calendar – programs, events, and activities.
- Designs and implements individual workout programs. Demonstrates proper form and technique on the use of cardiovascular and strength training equipment.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge about exercise, health, and fitness by remaining current with industry trends.
- Participates in facility by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Assists staff with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products to help maintain facility and prepare for special events.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE |
College degree in physical education or related field preferred.
REQUIREMENTS |
- Ability to demonstrate equipment use for exercise training.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS |
- Must be able to lift 45-pound weight plates.
- Ability to; sit, stand, bend, and squat for extended periods of time.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES |
- Certification from a nationally recognized agency such as ACE, AFFA, ASCM, NSCA, and NSPA.
- Valid First Aid certification
- Valid CPR certification
