Monday through Friday position with no on-call or weekend hours.

InnovAge PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly) is an alternative to nursing facilities. It provides customized healthcare, social engagement, and exercise to older adults to help them stay independent and in their homes. PACE participants receive most of their healthcare and social support at an InnovAge center in their community. Each person in the program has a team of healthcare experts and a personal care plan that is focused on providing a personalized experience.

Our Behavioral Healthcare team is an integral part of developing and delivering a personal care plan ensuring high quality, clinically appropriate, team-based behavioral health care. Provides initial assessments, clinical intervention, referrals for participants and families, and treatment recommendations. Physical attendance at an InnovAge center is essential to performing the job duties with the ability to travel to meet participants outside of center as needed.

The Manager of Behavioral Healthcare Services (MBHS) is a combined clinical and managerial position for the central region behavioral healthcare team. The MBHS provides direction and supervision of licensed behavioral health clinicians and behavioral healthcare coordinators in the central region centers, which includes, but is not limited to InnovAge centers located in Colorado. The MBHS evaluates processes, procedures, and workflows to improve the behavioral healthcare program. The MBHS provides clinical behavioral health interventions including initial assessments, diagnostic clarification, chart review, and treatment recommendations reflective of scope of practice and licensure. This position works in collaboration with the Executive Director and center (and area) leadership to ensure the achievement of performance goals regarding quality, compliance, resource management and customer service within the (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly) PACE product. Additional work duties may be assigned including (but not limited to) for example, interdisciplinary committees and leadership opportunities.

  • Adapt interpersonally to meet participant and Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) clinical needs in real time with insight into personal strengths
  • Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Be open to feedback and able to reflect productively

Oversight and Management – 60%

  • Strives for best practices with clinical performance outcomes and quality measurements
  • Collaborates with other MBHS and National Executive Director to implement consistent policies and procedures
  • Monitors compliance with state regulations, applicable licensing, certification, and accreditation requirements
  • Collaborates with IDT and operations to improve outcomes and address service utilization
  • Reviews behavioral healthcare documentation for quality and compliance
  • Provides clinical expertise to support behavioral healthcare staff and train IDT
  • Leads by example as coach and mentor to team members
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees
  • Completes employee performance reviews and coaches team members for success

Direct Participant Care and Administration– 30%

  • Co-manage the assessment and treatment of psychiatric, psychosocial issues, and behavioral health change with solutions focused approach and consultation with IDT
  • Collaborate with IDT to guide behavioral interventions that will be reinforced in medical visits.
  • Support de-escalation at the participant and staff level
  • Facilitate and oversee referrals to external providers including psychiatrists and community mental health centers
  • Collaborates with IDT/external providers/caregivers to resolve participant behavioral complexities and reduce risk of an inpatient psychiatric hospitalization

Budgeting, Financial, and External Provider Relationships – 10%

  • In collaboration with Executive Director advise on behavioral healthcare budget for region
  • Develops and supports external behavioral health providers

REQUIRED

  • Relevant integrated behavioral healthcare experience and/or training
  • A doctoral degree in psychology required (emphasis in integrated care) and/or doctorate in nursing (emphasis in clinical practice/knowledge of psychotropic medication management)
  • An unrestricted license as a psychologist (PhD or PsyD), with a minimum of three years' experience and/or an unrestricted license as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP), with a minimum of three years' experience.
  • A minimum of two (2) years managerial experience with at least three (3) years of clinical experience
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience working with the frail or elderly is required
  • Strong understanding of health care quality outcomes and associated metrics
  • Bi-lingual preferred

The pay offered for the position will take into consideration the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity, among other factors.
