What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jr Buyer position at Innovation Associates, Inc.?
The Role:
Junior Buyers are an integral part of iA’s Procurement Team. They are responsible for purchasing materials, supplies and services under the guidance of the Director, Purchasing. They ensure that all Purchase Requisitions for non-inventory items are properly authorized and processed by following department policies and procedures. They utilize the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to place Purchase Orders for goods and services. This position also tracks purchases, monitors inventory, and maintains product and vendor information within the ERP system. In addition, they maintain information and metrics related to various Procurement Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
What you’ll do:
- Verifies specifications of purchase requests, routes requests for approval, prepares & communicates purchase orders to vendors, and archives approved requestions for future reference.
- Ensures the assigned goods and services are purchased in a cost competitive way. (Pricing, Payment Terms, & Lead-times)
- Maintain ERP System purchase order delivery dates and system master data to ensure information is up to date.
- Maintain information and metrics related to various Procurement Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Analyzes, Summarizes, & Coordinates information to support various Procurement related meetings.
- Performs analytical, operational, and administrative tasks in support of the Procurement Department.
- Monitors iA's inventory and ensures assigned components are available for production when needed.
- Works with Receiving & Finance department to ensure proper purchase order closure and to resolve any invoice discrepancies. discrepancies.
Who you are:
- 1 year work experience in purchasing in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with manufacturing, purchasing, & planning functions within an ERP/MRP system
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiar with Microsoft 365 Office products, in particular Excel
It would be great if you also have:
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Familiar with DocuSign program
