Maintenance Technician

Summary

A Maintenance Technician will have the ability to perform tasks of substantial variety and complexity on the infrastructure and equipment within our facility with minimal supervision. This position will support all plant operations as well as perform preventive maintenance on all equipment as required or needed. Assist in keeping the facility in top condition as well as performing repairs to the equipment under the direction of the Assistant Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Comply with all, Environmental and OSHA rules and regulations.

• Perform preventive maintenance procedures on all equipment as assigned. Monitor facility work orders. Perform inspections and work at high levels in and around the facility.

• Perform basic tasks as required, to include but not limited to, requisitioning of materials, local pickup of ordered parts, restocking of parts or supplies, filing of equipment manuals or literature or other tasks as assigned.

• Knowledge of automated controls. Perform complex troubleshooting of mechanical components, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic circuits. Additionally, a Maintenance Technician will be able to troubleshoot and repair air compressors, dryers, and related process equipment that exists or may be purchased in the future.

• Install electrical apparatus for control systems that are compliant with applicable code, etc. Install, maintain and troubleshoot building wiring systems. Troubleshoot electrical control system that uses PLCs, motor and drives and sensors.

• Perform any of the mechanical levels and all building repairs and/or modifications using all hand, power and machining tools.

• Fabricate complex components and assemblies as well as perform equipment modifications on existing or new equipment utilizing above skills.

• Maintenance to include parts disassembly, overhaul, and reassembly of complex components. Identify and replace defective parts or components on equipment.

• Assist with training and coaching of other maintenance technicians.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

• Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity.

• Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

• Operation of tow motors and manlifts, as well as climbing ladders.

• Ability to perform multiple tasks in a timely manner with a production environment.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 2-5 years’ experience in related field preferred.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Employee must be able to work in hot and cold environments. Be able to stand for 12-hour shifts.
