Plant Controller
Job Description:
The Plant Controller is a key member of the Plant Leadership Team and provides strong financial leadership to all areas of the Plant. He/ She will be hands-on and proactively provide financial direction to the Plant and make recommendations to improve processes and controls to drive the financial success of the Plant. The Plant Controller must demonstrate and support IHP Core Values.
Role and Responsibilities
Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements and other operational reports for the Plant
Analyze variances to Plan and various Plant metrics (KPIs) and communicate explanations to management with recommended actions
Prepare annual Budget and quarterly Forecasts for the Plant in alignment with the corporate strategy
Work as an integral part of the Plant leadership team in developing metrics and goals for all areas and functions of the Plant to drive profitability of the Plant
Work with and lead cross-functional teams to achieve the Plants objectives
Establish accurate Standard Cost and inventory valuations, lead annual cost roll activity for the Plant
Lead annual Physical Inventory activity in conjunction with the Materials Group, analyze results and implement controls as needed to improve overall inventory accuracy
Collaborate and shares best practices across the finance team and suggest process improvements
Monitor and implement plant internal controls (in alignment with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure the integrity of reporting, the safeguarding of the company’s assets, and identify and mitigate risk
Ensures proper accounting in accordance with USGAAP as well as local statutory requirements
Estimate product costs to support quoting activities
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience as Plant Controller
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
Strong Standard Costing Experience
Working knowledge with SAP highly preferred
Proficient in MS Office
Strong analytical skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports
Ability to effectively communicate with management, peers, and staff
Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the organization
Physical and Environmental Requirements
Comfortable in a traditional manufacturing environment, wearing PPE, walking Plant floor regularly
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
