Job Summary
The Material Handler position is responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of inventory between the warehouse and production areas. Managing stocked and pulled inventory items, ensuring the proper accounting of inventory stock statuses and all other duties that may be assigned by the planning department related to these areas. Employee must be able to read, understand and follow industry standard GMP’s.
Job Duties
- Manage stocked inventory items through weekly cycle counts and restocking from supply
- Ensure all proper procedures are followed when moving and staging inventory for production
- Perform daily counts as directed by the Planning Lead
- Pick and Stage components for production based on picklists provided by the Planning Lead
- Moving inventory as requested by QC to ensure the efficient flow of releasing of materials
- Attend daily meetings with the Planning Lead to establish picking priorities and report on any issues
- Assist the warehouse with various functions as time permits
- Work with batching to request daily restocking of refrigerated items from the stocking warehouse and requesting picked items for POs as needed for batching pre-weighs
Required Skills
- Must be competent and able to learn all planning computer systems and process.
- Must have ability to operate forklift.
- Must be able to Read, Write and Understand the English Language.
- Must be able to understand basic computer navigation.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Possession of strong organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
- Able to work collectively with the administrative team associates.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Must have valid Utah driver’s license.
- Must have the ability to become forklift certified.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) - preferred
Experience and Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 to 6 months of relevant experience and/or training in a warehouse environment
Physical Demands
Exerting up to 50-75 pounds of force daily and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Involves a variety of physical activities including:
- Walking
- Manual Dexterity
- Talking
- Hearing
- Repetitive motions
Work Environment
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas were under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. For the most part ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
