Project Manager

Summary of Responsibilities: The Project Manager is primarily responsible for directing and overseeing all aspects of

Innovative Moving Systems service on each job to which they are assigned. This includes directing crews on site at customers’ locations, participating in both internal planning meetings as well as planning meetings with customers, providing accurate estimates of necessary labor and equipment and time, ensuring compliance on all contracts, and assisting the company in other areas as necessary.

Job Duties:

● Accurately determine needs and strategies to perform job professionally, within budget, and on time

● Communicate effectively with upper management, coworkers, and production crews

● Coordinate with other contractors in planning and execution

● Ensure high level of customer satisfaction

● Determine the definition of the project scope and goals

● Determine required resources (manpower, skills, equipment, etc.) for each job

o As necessary, collaborate with the Project Coordinators and Operations Manager to effectively allocate

and dispatch limited resources to various jobs

● Assist with Estimating and proposal preparation

● Constantly monitor progress of each assigned project

● Suggest and manage project changes as necessary

● Manage conflict with customers and within the crews to reach effective solutions

● Evaluate projects based on metrics (i.e. job profitability, budget vs. actual, customer satisfaction, etc.) and assess

results to improve systems and processes

● Account for and minimize all costs associated with each job to which they are assigned

● Participate in weekly staff meetings to offer updates and reports on all jobs being managed

● Assist in planning and problem resolution

● Assist other employees in the sales process (estimating, proposal preparation, etc.)

● Work with customers before, during and after moves to ensure proper planning and execution

● Communicate on a regular and timely basis with the Project Coordinators to update them on necessary labor on

jobs assigned to them

● Understand the overall goals of the company and make decisions that reflect the organization’s core values and

long and short term objectives

● Maintain an understanding of best practices and assist the company in ongoing efforts to improve

● Request assistance from coworkers as necessary

● All employees of IMS will assume that the Project Manager has the necessary resources to complete a job unless

the Project Manager requests assistance in procuring the necessary resources

Supervisory Authority: The Project Manager will oversee all of the employees that are assigned to their job on any given day. Because the Project Manager will spend a large amount of their time in the field working with the production employees of IMS, they will have a unique insight into the skills and areas that need improvement for each employee. Due to this insight, the Project Manager will be asked on occasion to assist in employee reviews/evaluations. Project Managers will have the final say in how IMS crews go about performing work. Because a Project Manager will be held accountable for the level of service provided, they must direct production employees to whatever extent necessary to properly complete a job. Supervision of employees will primarily focus on job execution. As a secondary function, the Project Manager will assist the Operations Manager in ensuring compliance with all IMS policies (including policies relating to Operations, HR, etc.).

Working Conditions: The project manager will spend approximately 70% of their time in the field and the other 30% in the office. Field work will include pre-proposal site visits, job supervision, site condition verifications, customer meetings, etc. Office work will include managing paperwork, responding to emails, conference calls, company meetings, collaboration with coworkers, managing customer accounts, etc.

The Project Manager’s job can be very physical. While the Project Manager will primarily oversee the work, there are times that management will be involved in assisting with the physical work. Project Managers should be able to lift 75 lbs. unassisted. The job will require long periods of walking, standing, carrying, and sitting. This job requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. Project Managers must demonstrate a high stress tolerance as they will be working with difficult customers and/or employees. This position will require approximately 40 to 50 hours of work per week. On occasion, additional hours may be required. At times, work during the evening and weekend may be required.

This Project Manager will receive 12 days of paid time off per calendar year plus a quarterly “Sabbath Day” (4 additional paid days off scheduled by IMS).

The Project Manager will be required to use their personal cell phone in the performance of their job. The employee will receive a stipend in the amount of $600/year for the use of the personal cell phone. The Project Manager must possess a mobile device capable of taking high resolution photos and receiving/sending emails and text messages. The cell phone stipend will be paid in equal amounts throughout the course of the year on each payroll. IMS will provide a business number through the use of a mobile app so the employee does not have to give their personal number to clients, crew members, etc. The Project Manager will be issued a company take home vehicle.

The Project Manager is an “on-call” position. The employee may be required to respond to phone calls and messages after hours, on weekends, etc.

The Project Manager will report directly to the Director of Sales.

Minimum Qualifications: High school graduate with at least some college level education. Preferably a college graduate.

2 years of industry experience is preferred. The Project Manager must be proficient with email, Microsoft Word, spreadsheets, scanning, paperwork management, etc.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
