Job Description:
Our customer is looking to bring on a seasoned Oracle Database Developer to help support the Merchandising and Pricing team that is responsible for technology practices that store & support the inventory composition for their 20,000 storefronts across the country. They will work alongside other developers and POS specialists to develop and maintain database functions as they relate to merchandise and pricing adjustments, promotions, and discounts to ensure all data and information is in real-time and accurate for the network of stores they support. This is a huge opportunity to join a growing team as they are set to kick off some major initiatives within pricing optimization to continue to improve the efficiency of the existing 20,000 storefronts as well as the average of 3 additional storefront openings per day!
Requirements:
• 5 years of experience as an Oracle Database Developer at an enterprise level.
• At least 2 years of retail industry experience including most recent role.
• 3 years of experience P/L SQL development and coding experience.
• 2 years of Java development experience.
• Extensive experience in publishing, monitoring, and performance tuning in Oracle/PL SQL.
• Experience using Kafka for data integration and real-time data processing.
• Previous knowledge and understanding of POS systems.
Nice to have:
• Extensive Retail Industry Experience.
• Extensive PL SQL Experience.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and maintain database functions within Oracle.
• Using P/L SQL, implement and maintain business logic and data processing requirements within existing Oracle databases practices.
• Work with other developers and engineers to carry out performance tuning responsibility for optimization and efficiency.
• Collaborate with other developers to properly transition the necessary transaction adjustments and modifications to the corresponding POS teams.
• Respond to any tickets coming in from the HCL L2 team to troubleshoot/repair any escalated system errors to ensure the upkeep and performance of real time data in the field/storefronts.
• Work cross functionally with existing oracle database team to publish data to all systems and data warehouses to improve visibility and efficiency across the greater technology domain.
