The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 1 provides safe and therapeutic care in a holistic and caring way while incorporating differences into the provision of care. Ensure improvements in practice by assuming responsibility for self-development in life long learning and provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor and mentor. Demonstrates leadership skills in decision making and problem solving. Assists the physician with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the cath lab.
Duties and Responsibilities
Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and /or graduate of an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology or equivalent education and experience.
Experience
Zero – one year of experience in an interventional Cardiac Cath Lab or Electrophysiology Lab performing Cardio Invasive Specialist duties or equivalent years of experience as a nurse working in a critical care hospital unit.

Licensure
RN licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required only if the certification requirement for RCIS, RCES, RTRVI, RTRCV, or RTRCI cannot be obtained within one year of the successful completion of the required training and orientation programs
