Summary of Purpose:
The web designer is responsible for creating visually appealing and user-friendly websites and supporting online assets. The role involves understanding business partner requirements and translating them into design concepts that align with INPOs brand and objectives. The web designer collaborates with cross-functional teams, including developers and stakeholders, to ensure seamless integration of design elements and optimal user experience.
Essential Functions
- Plans, creates, ideates and maintains all visual aspects of internal and external websites in collaboration with business partners
- Designs and drafts initial proposals and/or wireframe for web content, links, and overall appearance of internal and external facing websites; provides necessary updates and enhancements based on industry and design best practices
- Includes images, banners, bullets, charts, other graphics, references text, audio, and video web content
- Meets with clients to discuss and understand the goals of the website(s) and other design projects; helps clients visualize a general concept and framework
- Identifies useful site performance metrics; collects, tracks, records, compiles, analyzes, and reports site usage data
- Discusses, analyzes, reviews, and resolves usability issues in conjunction with development teams
- Communicates with site visitors and users regarding site updates, anticipated and unanticipated downtime, and resolution of bugs and outages
- Other duties as assigned

- Strong working knowledge in web design platforms
- Strong ability to be visually creative, analyze data, trends, and complex problems to problem-solve within web design
- Conduct research, gather information, and stay current with industry trends and best practices
- Communicate complex information in a clear and understandable manner to stakeholders
- Effectively manage projects, tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines
- Advanced ability to work independently as well as in teams/groups
- Advanced ability to work and maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive/private information

- Fluency with markup and programming languages including HTML, XML, Java, and CSS
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and other related software
Education, Licenses, and Certifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, or similar field required
Experience
Required
- Three or more years of work experience in a computer science related field
- One year of experience in web design including SharePoint

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
