The Scenic CAD Designer is responsible for designing and providing technical solutions, creating technical specifications, and developing safe and cost-effective construction methods based on design concepts and visual information This position reports directly to the CAD Supervisor
Key Responsibilities:- Create technical drawings for shop build.
- Draft detailed assembly/installation drawings
- Research materials and hardware required for construction.
- Actively communicate with construction team
- Work closely with the production team to meet both budget and scheduling goals.
- Monitor shop standards and quality control.
- BA or BFA preferred. Work experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Solid knowledge of scenic fabrication practices; shop fabrication experience a plus.
- Proficiency with Vectorworks, MS Office required.
- Experience with automation and electronics a plus.
- Entertainment and Events Industry experience preferred (Live Events, Sporting Events/Venues, Theater)
