Normal Work Schedule : Monday - Friday 8 : 00am to 4 : 45pm

Job Summary : The HUD Community Worker will work with rural communities in the Alabama Black Belt to provide education about lead testing, exposure, and remediation;
Additional Department Summary : The HUD Community Worker will work with rural communities in the Alabama Black Belt to provide education about lead testing, exposure, and remediation;
conduct surveys; and assist in planning community events. The HUD Community Worker will also develop youth programming in communities.
Required Minimum Qualifications : High school diploma or GED.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications : Must be willing to travel to communities in the Black Belt. Some remote work is required.
Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies.
Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge : Experience organizing events, and knowledge of and experience with living in Black Belt communities.
Preferred Qualifications : Familiarity with the communities in West Alabama; some experience working with diverse rural communities.
