What are the responsibilities and job description for the Computer Numerical Control Programmer position at Insight Global?
We are hiring an experienced CNC Programmer and Operator to join our team. This position will work with a dedicated team to support our client base of sectors such as nuclear, automation, petrochemical, and OEM, etc.
Major Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables
- Program computer numerically controlled (CNC) milling machine, lathe, router, and tools using Mastercam or Solid Works
- Create 3D Programs form surfaces and solids
- 4th and 5th axis programming on CNC Mill
- Live tooling and 4 axis lathe programming
- Build Process sheets for material flow
- Set up and adjust production machinery
- Self- Motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Develop CNC programs for production runs
- Modify existing programs for different machines
- Use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly
- Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications
- Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
- Consider tools required to cut different materials and program machines accordingly
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise
- Perform basic machine maintenances such as cleaning and preventative maintenance
- Train new employees on how to properly operate CNC machines
- Maintain tooling database
Skill Required:
- 5-10 years experience programming and operating a CNC lathe and mills
- Proficient with Mastercam or Solid Works
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required
