Control Engineer

Location: Macon, GA

Type: 12-Month Contract-to-Hire

Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm (Overtime: ~5 Hours/Week)

Travel: 20-30% (mostly local but occasionally overnight)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Automated Controls Integrator to join our team in Macon, GA, on a 12-month contract-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation controls integration and design, with a focus on industrial or manufacturing environments. This role involves both office-based design work and on-site field support for control systems installation and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Spend 20-30% of the time in the field, providing support and assisting with system installations.

• When in the office, focus on panel and programming design for control systems.

• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and develop appropriate control system designs.

• Perform maintenance on previously installed systems.

• Occasionally will be required to dedicate 100% of the time to control system design, upgrades, and improvements.

• Update drawings and designs to meet new requirements.

• Oversee complete system overhauls, including partial upgrades and redesigns, ensuring installation support and proper system integration.

• Manage long-term projects that typically span one year from start to finish.

• Integrate new equipment into control systems and update outdated programming software.

• Perform primarily local travel, with occasional overnight stays (5-10% travel).

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 5 to 10 years of experience in automation controls integration and design.

• Industrial and/or manufacturing experience.

• Proficiency with CAD and/or Revit.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
